As a leader in indoor air quality, I believe too many people have a false sense of security. The problem is that our society has been taught that maintaining “building compliance” is enough. They also believe that it is enough to have a Certificate of Occupancy and to have met the building/mechanical code.
Nothing could be further from the truth.

This scares me because it’s made me realize that we, as a society, have been focused on the wrong thing. We’ve been focused on buildings, instead of focused on people. I want to turn that around, because our number one priority needs to be keeping our PEOPLE safe.

This is the paradigm shift. The old way of managing our buildings only takes into account the building code and OH&S compliance regulations. I want to introduce a NEW way of looking at our buildings: It’s about the PEOPLE INSIDE the buildings. It’s about Life Safety.

Simply put: the standard compliance regulations is just not enough to keep our people safe 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Period.
